It's just a matter of time before they disappear again, taking all of your files with them.

The file limit isn't what it use to be either. Until the file limit size is larger, I can't use it just yet. Most of my files are over 30 mbs and I need a place that allows more file limits.
  • dlewis72387 (10:00AM Mar 06,2008) (Controls: Report)
litlbit2001 the limit has been increased to 50mb max file size its no longer at 30mb.

I saw that, but you might want to fix the function with the progress bar, I tried to use it, but you can't upload zip files, so I had to use the old way to upload zip files. Do you know when you will increase the file limit to 100 mbs again?
  • dlewis72387 (10:59PM Mar 08,2008) (Controls: Report)
Zips work fine for me in the progress bar. and are working for many other too as I can see in the log file's. Try clearing your cache and trying again.

As for increasing too 100mb file size, we have no time frame for when that might happen.

    You can't upload mp3's anymore?
That's what I used this site for. :(
  • cavedog (09:11AM May 24,2008) (Controls: Report)
Yes me too uploading mp3. But its now not allowed. Hmmm moving back to ....
  • dlewis72387 (09:56AM May 24,2008) (Controls: Report)
We no longer are a MP3 host, and don't count on having MP3's here ever. MP3's are a money pit thats why flickr and photobucket don't allow them. You loose more money on MP3's more then you can take in.
  • cavedog (02:17PM May 28,2008) (Controls: Report)
    Why you say that? Bandwidth?
  • dlewis72387 (04:11PM May 28,2008) (Controls: Report)
yea bandwidth is the problem. 99% of the time when a Mp3 is downloaded from a site like ours, fileden, etc. etc. the user never sees the site. So the 4MB of bandwidth that was just used resulted in no ad views there for no money made. Those sites as well as us, use Tier 1 Bandwidth in a Tier IV data center which is very expensive.

That was our biggest problem before, when you have a 100,000 MP3 downloads a day averaging 4MB each, but only get 35,000 ad views, it doesn't balance out.
  • litlbit2001 (08:22AM May 29,2008) (Controls: Report)
there are other free sites that let you upload mp3s. You just have to look. Hey dlewis are you gonna make the file size over 50 mbs soon? I've been graually uploading zip files when they expire at this other site that are under 50 mbs onto here and it seems I get alot of compliments when they are hosted here instead of some of the other places. People seem to love this site alot.

And so I make it a point to click those ads and let them open in a window I don't happen to be looking at. (Unless it is a really good ad...then how can you resist.  Those damn budah and flyswatters.

Do you guys keep track of who is clicking ads and who is not?...statistical purposes at least?
  • bayoubabe (09:53PM Jul 13,2008) (Controls: Report)
I'd much rather click on a bunch of ads in new window rather than looking for new site for streaming mp3s...ugh No luck with this at all. Found a few but they really suck. Not well put together sites or just plain confusing. Then theres the ones you think might be cool...after signing up and uploading files then ya find out you cant use them afterwards.
There was one I liked but they charged a fee. Which brings me to this question...Could the streaming be done and those who want the feature be charged a small monthy fee or something? lol
After all the searching Ive been doing I'd be glad to pay a monthly fee if yall put the streaming back. Also I read a lot of post in forums on the site for the player I use and a lot of people are looking for a site thats easy to use and allows streaming.
Please,Please...I'll even post your site everywhere! haha
OK,so anywayz...then Im asking again for the 25th time probably....Can anypne please send me a few sites that do streaming? A good one...not one that I go thru the BS process of signing up for then it doesnt allow use of ur mp3s after.

Totally frustrated here...someone please reply back or msg me

    Thanks :)

Just thought I'd leave an example of what the other sites have to offer...someone suggested www.mailboxdrive.com Check it out....I know I'm blond alright but that sites jsut complicated as hell I think. Downloaded 2 songs which went into their player and have no idea where to find the damn urls at.

    Ok Im done now...lol

Laters....and I do wanna say thanks though for the site and all you guys have tried to do here. Its really great, just doesnt have what I need. :(
