Our love for IE6 is simple, we hate it. Nothing ever works right in it, 90% of our time is spent fixing things for IE6 only. We also don't get why so many people use this super slow, old crappy browser. There are much better browsers around, even IE8 is 100 times better browser.

So from now on we are only going to make things function in IE6, features may not be 100% perfect but they will work. We are doing this so we can put more time into new exciting features that take advantage of new web technologies.

All features will work 100% in IE7, IE8, Safari, Firefox, Chrome, and Oprea.

We have a very simple fix for all you IE6 users, you can either upgrade your 8 year old browser to one of the above mentioned browsers, or install Google Chrome Frame.

Google Chrome Frame is a plug in for IE6 that allows sites to use the Google Chrome rendering engine within IE6. This allows IE6 to work with web standards and use newer web technologies correctly.

Installing Google Chrome Frame will allow you to see and use Uploadingit.com the way it is meant to be used.

There are several different browsers other then IE. You have Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome.

dlewis72387: really? i thought that ie is the only one around. i have heard of opera, konqueror, aweb, flock, iceweasle, seamonkey, kmeleon, epiphany, amaya, galeon, midori, kazehakase, arora, dooble... but those aren't web browsers, right?

Those are all web browsers too, not as good or popular as the ones I mentioned.

I recommend using Google Chome if your going to switch. If not its a good thing to install Google Chrome Frame from the link above.

The reason we ask you all to update your browsers is because some parts of our site require resources that older browsers do not support. An example of this is the Upload page.

<literal meaning>i belive that no website should go through even the slightest troubles to make stuff that works fine with friefox, opera or chrome to be compatible with inferior software as ie6. if you use ie6 you should be just s%çt out of luck.</literal meaning>

I find IE8 inferior to Firefox, as the former does not do multiple rows of tabs (I have about 16 across, and 4 rows), or allow you to save multiple sessions (session saver ext, not working yet), or change the color or size of them, save web pages with the url, or save the URLS , do word counts, install the Google toolbar, nor does it offer many themes, or otherwise allow much customization at all, which FF does with extensions. Thank God for Firefox (Orca is my second favorite)

Soon a blood test will be needed to access the web as it is separating into this elitist kind of motive instigated by monopolies , Microsoft , to name one , but let us not forget Google is big .Why shouldn't we be screwed on line like we are screwed at home ? My cable company assured us that we didn't need digital decoders and now most of my cable television is not accessible without that 60 buck box . Incidentally , the digital sound quality actually breaks up the sound at inopportune times just like computer glitches or Youtube uploads and the screen shots are repeated as if the video editor is smoking crack.So your idea of upgrading this site has worked about the same as cable television. Again today all my sites were down and I realized that I am relying upon Uploadit too much for my slide shows . Why bother complaining , it seems to be over and ,after all , everything is being upgraded ,if I can afford it. Maybe if I can just stop eating ...

As some of your sites may have been down we are sorry for that. Uploadingit.com hosts a very big sum of users and it is our mission to provide you with top of the line file hosting, as we have just upgraded our server there may have been downtimes experienced but it is nothing to worry about now.

Not some of my sites , all of my sites that have Uploadingit slides were white blanks. Today they are loading but none of them are playing the music files that used to accompany the show.Will I have to get new codes again and rebuild each of the pages again ? Has your policy changed about the slide show presentations or is this a temporary thing . I must admit that I don't look in every day to see what works and what doesn't but the last couple of days ... WOW ! I don't know , sometimes I think it goes in jags of good or bad luck.. haha . I am holding onto the web sites by my fingernails considering I have built them on scripts like yours and my "Wind Up" computer. Ah , I am just dabbling in web mastering but I have a greater respect for an old friend who did corporate work on line from the nether years till he died in 2003 with much less space and speed than even my " wind up " box . Hey , I hope it all works out . It has been fun for a while and I still think your slide show format with music is the presentation I like the best .

No you will not need to change the codes or files associated with the uploads/slideshows. I assure you this was a temporary thing and will go away shortly. The past couple days have been just as rough for us dealing with server issues and staying up night and day to fix these issues to provide the best uploading experience for all of our users.
